It could not have been scripted any better leading up to contesting the WA Super Sedan State Title 2010 - with only 24 points separating the master Gary ‘Dusty’ Higgs from young gun and current WA#1 Kodee Brown in the SSRC Summer Series and even more interesting is only 16 points separate the top 4 Drivers for the Perth Motorplex Track Championship: 1 WA#1 Kodee Brown 1618; 2 #81 Gary Higgs 1612; 3 #82 Dustin Higgs 1604; 4 #24 Murray Iwanow 1602.

But major events such as state and national titles notoriously present totally different conditions where frankly anything can happen …and usually does. This was exemplified by the Kodee Brown victory in 08/09…..in his rookie year and only after a hand full of appearances in the division.  To his merit Kodee has since gone on to prove that he is a genuine talent and star performer.

Looking back at the results over the last five years shows just what a competition we have on our hands!! Marc Giancola has taken the WA crown twice - in 04/05 and 06/07 with Frank Does in 05/04 and Kalgoorlie’s Robbie Bawdon in 07/08. Carnarvon’s Peter Lyall has stood on the podium with 2 third places 05/06 and /06/07 with Kemble Aylett in 07/08 and Gary Higgs 08/09…and you definitely can not discount Keith Higgs (winner 02/03) coming in from WA’s best performer at this years Australian Title and of course Murray Iwanow and Dustin Higgs …two young drivers on a fast track mission to succeed.

With a huge field of up to 30 cars and drivers nominated ... an amazing turn around from 19 last year ….  and judging by the very spirited racing put on so far this year by SSRC drivers I think race fans at the spectacular Attwell Park Albany Speedway on the Easter Weekend should find something …or someone to hold to as our V8 Superstars show why Super Sedans are the Hottest Thing Happening in Speedway in WA!!!!
