Under threatening skies collie speedway hosted round four of the SOUTHSIDE ENGINE CENTRE super sedan series . The inclement balmy weather making track preparations a little tricky but no complaints were heard about the racing surface .

Thirteen cars attended this meeting and all cars managed to make the final with only two dnf s recorded for the nights feature .

Opening heat went to Big Bad Bert who had reverted back to a four bar rear suspension . The RHYNE ford engine sounding awesome as it banged on the rev limiter . Kodee brown had changed the nose of the Dominator Monaro back to the lightning mc queen look convinced the MD 3 nose gave the car to much front aero down force . Sounds absurd but all of a sudden kodee had his mojo back and run second Keith higgs third in burkes 87 devil

Marc G owns collie he went out in his first heat and showed the rest of the field his intentions for the night and led home dustin and garry higgs in that order .

Kodee took out heat three from Terry Green who was enjoying a good night while the track still had some moisture in it from the number 4 ford fusion of vosbergen .

The points leader Garry Higgs broke thru in heat four in his SWEET grand prix his brutal DRAIME engine proving to be a very worthwhile investment . This put the only blemish on GIANCOLAS other wise perfect night with Marc running second and the rapid rotary of Peter Lyall coming home third .

After a long track grade and intermission Giancola took out heat five from a revitalised Brown and Dusty Higgs .

The last heat of the night starting with Vosbergen anticipating the start brilliantly and grabbing the lead by the first corner out of position five . Unfortunately a spin by the 300 zx of Tristan Green brought the field back under yellows for a full restart . The field were awake to vosbergens tactics and it wasnt repeated upon the restart . Squally higgs took out the event from Keith Higgs and Vosbergen .

With two heat wins and a second the 43 dominator would start on pole the rest of grids is as follows

On the unfurling of the green giancola jumped to the lead followed thru by vosbergen the pair opening up a quite a lead for the first few laps kodee brown slowly worked his way onto vosbergens rear bumper then the first yellow flag of the feature when kyle larson spun the number 10 car coming of turn four . Single file restart nothing changed up front till lap eleven when vosbergen was baulked by lapped traffic brown went around the outside to grab second place the race continued in this order till lap 22 when Green hit the turn four wall requiring the tow truck to remove his stricken comodore this set up a 3 lap shoot out till the finish on lap 25 no one was able challenge Marc giancola and went on to record his sixth successive victory at this event .

The giancola crew happy to be back in form . Kodee brown also glad to be in a race challenging position again . And the veteran Vosbergen glad to have a good night in the southwest venue . The percieved higgs domination of this meeting not happening .

Next meeting is the annual sedan car muster . Doubling as our state title held over two nights 17th and 18th of december . Danny Miller from sa is here to try and take home the trophy dusty higgs is desperate to win this year after leading for a long while last easter at the albany venue . Tony Giancola will leave no stone unturned to keep the WA 1 number on
his race car along with around 30 other teams .

Shayne Reid very unselfishly helped out Tina Lizzi and our club at very short notice and displayed his racecar at the Channel 7 christmas pageant thanks Shayne from all the club members .
