SSRC Annual General Meeting  - Friday May 27th, 11

The SSRC Annual General Meeting was held recently on the 25th May, 2011 at the Rivervale Community Centre.  A very good attendance, the highest in many years was on hand to participate and exercise their right to vote on constitutional and club issues and also to elect a new committee for the upcoming 2011 / 2012 summer season.

Long serving Secretary Paula Lyall tendered her resignation after tirelessly serving over the last few seasons.  The amount of electronic mail generated over a twelve month period has to be seen to be believed.

Two nominations were received and accepted for the position of Chairman, Kevin Theyer and Kemble Aylett.  Both parties were given the opportunity to address the members where they outlined the direction they wanted to lead the club.  A secret ballot was held and Kevin Theyer was elected.

Club Secretary position was filled by Life Member Judy Vosbergen along with Rachel Higgs assisting with the position.  It’s really good to see some young people putting their hand up getting involved.

In these days of Electronic Funds Transfers for the ever important task of depositing prize money to the competitors the ever reliable Robyn deMamiel fills the position of Treasurer - keeping our books squeaky clean. Absolutely faultless year after year she forms part of the backbone of this strong club.

The job of keeping the drivers honest and under control at the Motorplex is to be handled by Jerome Sutton.  The Chief Steward position for the SSRC country rounds is Mathew Flynn.

After election of office bearers Mr Theyer explained how important the upcoming season will be also the implimentation of a sub-committee to plan and execute the western swing of the NSSS next season.  This consists of Life Member Geoff Green, Dustin Higgs,Glenn Piper, Wayne Reynolds, Wayne Norris.

 After general discussions the meeting closed around 9:00 pm.
